Monument to the heroes of the landing at Vidlitsa
On June 27, 1919 happen so-called "Vidlitsa disaster” – the Bolshevik's flotilla landed the troops in Vidlitsa, on the coast of Ladoga Lake, in the rear of Olonets Volunteer Army. Fifty years later, on June 27, 1959, at the initiative of local authorities the foundation of the monument was laid by the inhabitants of Vidlitsa. Concrete statue of sailor was created by Leningrad sculptor Lev Kalinin. The monument was unveiled on November 7, 1961. The inscription says: TO THE HEROES OF THE LANDING AT VIDLITSA |
