Foreword by Mannerheim

A private soldier who has done his duty is not responsible for the outcome of the war.

Those men who were inspired by a warm love for their kindred people and who, in their youthful enthusiasm, did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives in order to share their newly won freedom with their brotherly people on the other side of the border, deserve recognition and admiration for their manly deeds and their sacrifice.
