At the Olin Concert Hall at Bates College (Russell Street, Lewiston), the folk quartet Sattuma, on tour from Karelia, Russia, will present an evening of traditional Russian and Finnish music performed on fiddles, accordion, clarinet, Estonian bagpipes, flutes, kantele, jouhikko, jaw harp and harmonica. This is a great family show; two of the band members are fiddlers aged 11 and 14, joined by their fathers, former members of the Russian folk-rock group Myllarit, which played in Maine the summers of '01 & '02. Admission is $5, with a reduced price of $3 for students and senior citizens.The band's Bates appearance is sponsored by the Bates Freewill Folk Society.
