Do you still remember the time when the volosts of Reboly and Porosozero were under Finnish protection? How then national life began to flourish; schools in native language were founded, hospitals were built and the word of God was spread in your own language. How your Finnish brother helped you in every way. He was a protector against the Ruskies. You were the master of your own house, farmed your fields, fished and hunted freely.

Do you remember the beautiful promises made by the Ruskies in the Tartu Peace Treaty? Have any of them been fulfilled?

Amnesty was solemnly promised – Karelians were imprisoned en masse.

Own civil guard was promised – its members disarmed and captured by Ruskies.

Were promised the freedom to cultivate and manage your own fields and own movable property – driven into collective farms, property was looted.

Freedom to move to Finland was promised – the border was closed and those trying to enter Finland were shot.

Compare the times you lived in the past with life under the Bolsheviks today. You yourself know best what the communists have given to the people of Karelia.

You, the free farmer, have been turned into a collective farm laborer. All what you have earned by blood and sweat has been robbed by the Chekist. Hungry and torn, you are forced to work. You have neither Sunday rest nor patronal feast days. You are not allowed to visit your church. Your brother has perished in the land of Ruskies.

Do you know that, having plundered your forests, the Ruskies offered to exchange Reboly and Porosozero in order to get a piece of Finland to continue their robbery? When Finland did not agree to the exchange, the Ruskies attacked Finland.

You have seen how large Ruskies troops have been transported through your village to plunder and destroy Finland.

Do you know what the fate of the Ruskies was?

Lauded as invincible, the Red Army has not got far on the Finnish side. Its march has been bloodily halted. The forests and lakes of Finland have been reddened with the blood of the Ruskies. Their bodies are covered with Finnish snow.

The time has come now for the men of Reboly and Porosozero to free themselves from the life of a slave.

If you want your former free life back, think and create all kinds of damage to the Bolsheviks.

Sabotage!

When you are forced to be a guide for the Ruskies, lead them off the path, lead them to the weak ice.

Being involved in the transport, throw food and ammunition into the forests and into an ice-holes, cut the telephone wires, knock down telegraph poles.

Burn the warehouses.
