Vepsian national flag

Vepsian national flag was designed by painter Vitaly Dobrynin at 1992 and it was based on the flag of Republic of Uhtua (created by famous Finnish artist Aseli Gallen-Kallela at 1920).

It is a Nordic cross flag with a green background and a yellow scandinavian cross with an inserted narrow blue cross.

Vepsian national flag was presented in June 1992 at the Vepsian Summer Festival in Rybreka Village.

From May 16, 2000 to December 31, 2005 flag was used as official flag of Veps National Volost – a municipal autonomy of North Vepses in the Republic of Karelia, Russian Federation.
