In the late XIX – early XX centuries a new architectural style appeared. In Germany it was called Jugend, in France – Art Nouveau and in Russia – Nordic Modern.

Unfortunately, this style practically passed Petrozavodsk. Nevertheless, several buildings were built under its influence and some of it survived to the present day.
